Job Description: Position Summary and Purpose Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a radiation oncologist according to established practices and standards. Duties may include reviewing prescription and diagnosis; acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel; preparing equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices; and maintaining records, reports, and files. May assist in dosimetry procedures and tumor localization. The Radiation Therapist operates various highly technical equipment with accuracy and precision. The Radiation Therapist participates in clinical and/or didactic instruction and evaluation of Radiation Therapy students. The Therapist complies with local, state, and federal rules and regulations and the requirements of accrediting bodies. The Therapist provides service to all age patients.
