As a Radiation Therapist at MercyOne, you will assist the Radiation Oncologist in preparing the patient for radiation therapy treatments. Under the supervision/direction of the radiation physicist and oncologist, give radiation therapy treatments. Document in daily logs the correct dosages utilized. Ages of patients served range in age from adult to geriatric.

Requirements

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (T)
Iowa Department of Public Health Permit to Practice
BLS certified within 3 months of hire
Know basic patient care skills, operation of oxygen equipment, radiation therapy treatment equipment, record and verify system, Linear Accelerator Unit, simulation and block preparation skills

Responsibilities

Assist the Radiation Oncologist in preparing the patient for radiation therapy treatments.
Under the supervision/direction of the radiation physicist and oncologist, give radiation therapy treatments.
Document in daily logs the correct dosages utilized.
