About The Position

Quincy Medical Group is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Radiation Therapist to join their oncology team. This role involves delivering prescribed radiation treatments and performing planning CT simulations, prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and accuracy. The position is crucial in the patient care journey, demanding strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and compassionate support for patients undergoing cancer treatment. The Radiation Therapist will collaborate with providers, physicists, and the care team to ensure high-quality treatment delivery and adherence to safety standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiology program and a Radiation Therapy program required
  • ARRT registration in Radiation Therapy required
  • Current Illinois license required
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based clinical environment
  • Strong communication skills with a patient-centered approach

Nice To Haves

  • 6–12 months of Radiation Therapy experience preferred (student clinical rotations accepted)

Responsibilities

  • Perform planning CT simulations using proper positioning, immobilization, and marking techniques for accurate and reproducible treatments.
  • Deliver prescribed radiation therapy with precision, verifying patient identity, treatment parameters, and provider orders before each session.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment.
  • Maintain patient communication throughout procedures.
  • Monitor patients for side effects or concerns and report findings to the provider.
  • Assist with tumor localization, dosimetry support, and contrast studies.
  • Ensure adherence to radiation safety standards for patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Support scheduling and workflow coordination.
  • Perform daily quality assurance checks on treatment machines and CT simulators.
  • Identify and report equipment issues.
  • Contribute to chart checks, billing accuracy, and compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
  • Help maintain a high level of patient care throughout the treatment process.
