About The Position

OhioHealth is hiring multiple Radiation Therapists due to expansion across the organization. They have full-time, part-time, and casual (as needed) opportunities at multiple locations across the system, including Dublin Methodist Hospital, Doctors Hospital, Grant Medical Center, Mansfield Hospital, and Riverside Methodist Hospital. The Radiation Therapist delivers radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. This role involves preparing patients for radiation therapy, including simulation, dose calculations, and acquiring treatment parameters. As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties. OhioHealth offers a $25,000 sign-on bonus for full-time new hires with a one-year work commitment, and $12,500 for part-time new hires with the same commitment. Previously employed applicants gone for more than 90 days may also be eligible. Benefits eligibility begins on the first day of employment.

Requirements

Associate's Degree
AART-ODH - American Registry of Radiologic Technology - American Association of Radiologic Technologists
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
LIC - Licensed in Field - State of Ohio
Registered with the ARRT and licensed to practice in the State of Ohio
Graduate of an approved Radiation Therapy Technology Training Program
BLS Certification

Responsibilities

Administers Radiation Therapy treatments on a daily basis.
Maintains daily record of treatment, inclusive of daily dosages and calculations and other necessary treatment records.
Performs simulations, acquires treatment parameters, patient contours and dose calculations.
Therapists who are scheduled to work 80 hours per pay, may be required to be on-call for weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
Maintains patient schedules for In-Patients and Out-Patients communicates frequently with families and hospital personnel to maintain schedule coordination and accommodate patients as best as possible.
Monitors patient Condition and progress on a daily basis. i.e., patient weighs, skin care, reaction, etc.
Assists Radiation Oncologist in performance of Brachytherapy procedures.
Oversees and directs clinical activities of Radiation Therapy Technology students.
Provides clinical insight to Radiologic Technology students, nursing students, etc. as needed.
Participates in Department Clinical QA activities, new patient conference, tumor board and QRM.
