About The Position

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering external beam treatments accurately and efficiently, assessing and addressing patient needs during treatment, and practicing appropriate radiation safety procedures. This role involves accurate and timely completion of patient charts, performing complex treatment calculations, and fabricating blocks. The therapist will also perform simulations with a high degree of accuracy and utilize required scripting, barriers, and patient identifiers. The position operates within a Culture of Excellence, emphasizing quality, service, partnering, and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program
  • ARRT registration in radiation therapy required (or eligible upon hire and attain within one year)
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good interpretive/analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to perform multiple functions with minimal direction, independent of supervision
  • Complex problem solving
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear; stand, walk, and sit; use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move 25 to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and have the ability to adjust and focus.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers external beam treatments in an accurate and timely fashion with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of standard and advanced treatment calculations and treatment plans.
  • Designs and fabricates blocks accurately and efficiently.
  • Performs Simulation with a high degree of accuracy in a timely fashion with little or no supervision.
  • Utilizes appropriate scripting, barriers, and patient identifiers as required per position.
