About The Position

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a talented Radiation Therapist to join their team on a PRN/Casual basis. This role is ideal for someone passionate about radiation therapy and providing excellent customer service to patients. The position is primarily based at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE, with occasional opportunities at the Village Pointe location. The Radiation Therapist will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff to deliver exceptional patient care. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology or completion of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) special eligibility requirement course.
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
  • Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiation therapy within thirty days of hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in radiation oncology.
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in radiologic technology or related field.
  • Expertise in operation of linear accelerators and CT simulators and ability to fabricate treatment devices.
  • Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography.
  • Nebraska License to practice medical radiography.

Responsibilities

  • Performing the accurate delivery of prescribed ionizing therapeutic radiation using a variety of complex techniques and equipment.
