Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
  • ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (RT(T)) required.
  • Prior experience in healthcare, with oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • BLS Certification
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time.
  • Good manual dexterity with the ability to perform repetitive hand/wrist motions.
  • Requires mastery of complex language, comprehension, reasoning, and analytical skills typically found in mid to high-level work.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols.
  • Ensure accurate patient positioning, treatment setup, and operation of radiation therapy equipment.
  • Perform daily machine warm-ups, quality assurance checks, and report equipment concerns promptly.
  • Review and verify treatment plans, simulation data, and patient documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor patients during treatment, assess for adverse reactions, and report changes in condition to the radiation oncologist and clinical team.
  • Provide clear patient education regarding treatment procedures, side effects, and care instructions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the electronic medical record system.
  • Adhere strictly to radiation safety standards, HIPAA regulations, and all applicable healthcare compliance guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated care.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.
  • Assist with inventory monitoring of clinical supplies and notify leadership of ordering needs.
  • Support onboarding and training of new clinical team members as needed.
  • Uphold the professional standards and values of the organization while serving as a compassionate ambassador to patients and the community.
  • Practice effective infection control procedures.
  • Perform equipment and patient care quality assurance in accordance with departmental standards. Report any erratic operation of equipment, related to patient/personnel safety.
  • Maintain department records.
