Under the supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapist, the Radiation Therapist performs treatment and simulation procedures, as directed by the Radiation Oncologist. This role involves operating CT simulation units and supporting equipment, performing patient positioning and immobilization, and ensuring accurate documentation of procedures. The Radiation Therapist also plays a key role in patient care, explaining procedures, answering questions, and monitoring patients during therapy. Collaboration with the patient's care team, scheduling, training, and maintaining department facilities are also essential aspects of this position. The role requires adherence to safety standards, quality assurance processes, and regulatory compliance.
