About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Radiation Therapist to join their team in Rochester, Minnesota. This role is crucial in delivering hope and healing to cancer patients by providing radiation therapy. The Radiation Therapist will be part of a large, diverse, and dynamic team of over 100 professionals supporting an advanced oncology practice that treats over 5,000 patients annually. The practice offers a wide range of treatments including photon and proton therapy, brachytherapy, orthovoltage, gamma knife, and intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT). The position involves delivering precise and compassionate care, performing treatment simulations, mentoring future RTTs, participating in advanced procedures, and collaborating within a care team. Flexibility is required, as coverage may extend to multiple Rochester or regional sites, involve on-call duties, shift work, and mandatory overtime when needed. The role offers unique aspects such as independent operation of Photon and Proton departments, extended hours with high patient volume, and close interdisciplinary teamwork with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and social workers. Requirements

  • Associate's degree.
  • Successful completion of a JRCERT accredited program in Radiation Therapy.
  • Current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy required at time of hire or within 2 months of start date.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 2 months of start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as an R.T.T. including Photon and Proton treatments, daily imaging, and simulation procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver precise, compassionate care to cancer patients through radiation therapy.
  • Perform treatment simulations.
  • Mentor the next generation of RTTs through clinical instruction.
  • Take part in advanced procedures such as IORT, brachytherapy, simulation, and orthovoltage.
  • Participate in care team meetings, interdisciplinary communication, and scheduling.
