The Radiation Therapist accurately and precisely prepares a cancer patient and their chart for administration of a course of radiation treatments. The Radiation Therapist will function as a key member of the Cancer Treatment Team. It is expected that the therapist will rotate through radiation treatment preparation, simulation, mould room, dosimetry, and treatment delivery.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Program in Canada or a non-Canadian program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists
Registration (or eligible for registration) with Nova Scotia Association of Medical Radiation Technologists and Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists.

Responsibilities

Accurately and precisely prepares a cancer patient and their chart for administration of a course of radiation treatments.
Functions as a key member of the Cancer Treatment Team.
Rotates through radiation treatment preparation, simulation, mould room, dosimetry, and treatment delivery.
