The Radiation Therapist accurately and precisely prepares a cancer patient and their chart for administration of a course of radiation treatments. The Radiation Therapist will function as a key member of the Cancer Treatment Team. It is expected that the therapist will rotate through radiation treatment preparation, simulation, mould room, dosimetry, and treatment delivery.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Program in Canada or a non-Canadian program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists
  • Registration (or eligible for registration) with Nova Scotia Association of Medical Radiation Technologists and Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and precisely prepares a cancer patient and their chart for administration of a course of radiation treatments.
  • Functions as a key member of the Cancer Treatment Team.
  • Rotates through radiation treatment preparation, simulation, mould room, dosimetry, and treatment delivery.
