As a Radiation Therapist, you will implement prescribed treatments to patients with various forms of cancer. Radiation is administered in therapeutic doses and can send certain localized forms of cancer into remission. It can also be used to prevent the recurrence of particularly malignant forms of cancer after they have been removed during surgery. In this role, your work is an essential element of our innovative care plan designed to aid the cancer fighting journey. Every day, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and their families, all while gaining hands-on experience in a technologically advanced and fast-paced healthcare environment. A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a CAHEA approved School of Radiation Therapy technology or registry eligible
  • Board certified Registered Radiation Therapist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), R.T.(R)(T)(ARRT) in good standing
  • Current state licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Experience with Radiation Oncology and specific electronic medical records

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with External Radiation Therapy, IMRT, IGRT and CT Simulation

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic and patient care services to deliver radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician.
  • Determine and deliver appropriate patient treatment plans in collaboration with physician and dosimetrist.
  • Monitor and document patient's condition, report any adverse reactions.
  • Assess and educate patients according to specific department protocols.
  • Position patients and select anatomic/technical parameters accurately.
  • Check and adjust necessary equipment, including linear accelerator.
