About The Position

This position involves treating patients, mentoring and supervising the work of therapy staff, and contributing to the daily operational management within Radiation Oncology. The role requires coordination of daily staffing, maintenance of electronic medical records for treatment delivery, charge entry, and quality assurance. It also includes troubleshooting equipment, patient schedules, and staffing issues, as well as performing patient simulations, delivering prescribed radiation treatments, and assessing/educating patients according to department guidelines. Additional duties may include mentoring employees/students and participating in hospital initiatives.

Requirements

• Radiation Therapy Certification and Registration
• 3 years experience as a Radiation Therapist
• CPR American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily staffing coverage, rotations and time usage in the treatment area.
• Reviews and maintains electronic medical records for treatment delivery, charge entry and quality assurance.
• Troubleshoots problems related to treatment equipment, patient schedules, and staffing.
• Performs patient simulations, delivers a prescribed radiation treatment, and assesses/educates patients according to specific department guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required which may include but not limited to mentoring employees/students and participating in hospital initiatives.
