About The Position

This role involves administering prescribed radiation therapy by accurately preparing, positioning, and treating patients in collaboration with physicians and dosimetrists. The Radiation Therapist will operate, maintain, and adjust treatment equipment, ensuring high-quality images and proper documentation. They will also maintain detailed, accurate records of all therapy sessions and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, while supporting a clean, safe, and organized department.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Radiation Therapist credentialed from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Radiation Therapist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Administer prescribed radiation therapy by accurately preparing, positioning, and treating patients in collaboration with physicians and dosimetrists.
Operate, maintain, and adjust treatment equipment (e.g., linear accelerator) while ensuring high-quality images and proper documentation in PACS.
Maintain detailed, accurate records of all therapy sessions and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Support a clean, safe, and organized department, including treatment rooms, storage areas, and patient spaces.
