About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Radiation Therapist I for Norfolk General Hospital, in Norfolk, Virginia. This is a full-time, first-shift position. The role involves providing radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a 525-bed tertiary care facility with a Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit, serving as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School. It is recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, specializing in various medical fields including oncology.

Requirements

Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology REQUIRED
ARRT Certification PREFERRED
All new graduates will remain Radiation Therapist I for the first 2 years of employment and are required to pass boards within 6 months of hire.
Completion of an approved certification program prior to 2016 in lieu of Associates degree will also be considered.

Responsibilities

Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards.
