About The Position

Operates radiologic equipment to produce images for procedure guidance under the supervision of the physician. Takes precautions to minimize staff and patient exposure to radiation. Assists in radiology quality assurance and quality improvement activities. Effectively communicates with patients, family, and other healthcare team members. Sets up procedure rooms including equipment and supplies. Participates in performance improvement data collection. Follows all safety requirements of the facility per policy under the direction of the Governing Board. Practices radiation protection techniques using restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors to minimize radiation to patients and staff. Uses personal protective equipment including lead aprons as required. Properly operates, mobilizes, and positions equipment. Sets up and uses appropriate techniques and protocols as indicated. Responsible for the safe operation of radiologic equipment. Cleans equipment and stocks procedure rooms as needed. Troubleshoots equipment problems and advises supervisor of equipment malfunctions. Other duties as assigned.
