Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking a Radiation Protection Functional Area Manager (RPFAM) to provide day-to-day management and leadership of the organizations, disciplines, and personnel within the RPFA. This role also involves strategic vision and technical oversight to meet the goals and objectives of RPFA customers and stakeholders. As a key member of the Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) Directorate management team, the RPFAM ensures that radiation protection practices at the Laboratory are effective, efficient, and compliant, enabling the safe execution of work involving radioactive materials. This position is within the ESH Directorate, Operations & Business Principal Associate Directorate, and offers a hybrid schedule with one day per week remote flexibility after a probationary period. The RPFAM will serve as an integral member of the Engineered Safety Department management team, formulating and executing high-level goal setting and strategic planning, and advising Laboratory senior management on radiation protection matters. The RPFA's program includes providing health physicists for field support, internal and external dosimetry, and environmental radiation monitoring.
