The Proton Therapy Center at Cincinnati Children’s is a leader in innovative cancer treatments, utilizing advanced pencil-beam proton therapy technology to precisely target tumors while minimizing damage to healthy tissues. The center is unique with a dedicated research gantry for both basic and clinical research, supported by a $24 million investment to advance proton therapy science, including the world's first clinical trial of FLASH proton therapy. Requirements

Minimum Masters in Medical Physics or equivalent degree
Minimum American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification eligible

Nice To Haves

PhD or equivalent degree
ABR certified
Assistant, Associate or Full Professor appointment in University of Cincinnati College of Medicine are contingent on meeting academic standards set forth by the University

Responsibilities

Ensure treatments like proton therapy are delivered safely and accurately.
Work with radiation oncologists to design treatment plans that target tumors while protecting healthy tissues.
Calibrate radiation doses.
Maintain equipment.
Oversee quality assurance.
Instruct medical residents, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists on radiation safety, equipment use, and treatment planning.
Mentor students and fellows in clinical techniques.
Contribute to the field through research, publications, and involvement in professional organizations.
Work on projects to enhance radiation therapy and develop new technologies.
Publish research and present at conferences.
Serve on committees and boards to help set industry standards and promote best practices.
