About The Position

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) is seeking a board-certified Radiation Oncologist to join its growing, innovative oncology program in Sarasota. This role is highlighted by the newly opened, state-of-the-art Milman-Kover Cancer Pavilion, a premier facility that enhances the delivery of comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care by integrating radiation oncology, surgical oncology, and medical oncology. FCS partners with Sarasota Memorial Health Care System and the Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute to provide exceptional oncology services. Sarasota Memorial is a large public health system with national distinctions, including Magnet Nursing designations. The position is located on Florida's Southwest Gulf Coast, an area known for its quality of life, beaches, arts, dining, and outdoor recreation. The system is investing in expanding oncology services, including a Radiation Oncology Center with two linear accelerators and SMH-Venice hospital, supported by research institutes focused on innovative, research-driven care.

Requirements

  • Board-certified in Radiation Oncology
  • Full unrestricted Florida MD/DO License
  • Extensive knowledge of radiation therapy procedures and techniques
  • 2-5 years of practicing experience required
  • Must pass background, drug, and nicotine screens.
  • Must receive required vaccinations, including the influenza vaccine, barring an approved exemption.
  • Must adhere to a smoke-free workplace policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Varian linear accelerators (EDGE ARIA, Eclipse network)
  • Experience with HDR/Brachytherapy program (Prostate and GYN Services)

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Varian linear accelerators including the EDGE ARIA and Eclipse network.
  • Work with on-site full-time Medical Physicists and Dosimetry.
  • Collaborate with Radiation therapists (2-3 per linac), Registered nurses, and Clerical support.
  • Participate in a centrally managed leadership structure.
  • Contribute to the HDR/Brachytherapy program, focusing on Prostate and GYN services.
  • Deliver comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care.
  • Provide world-class cancer care in a community setting.
  • Participate in national clinical research studies of drugs and treatment protocols.
  • Promote, encourage, and model healthy lifestyles that reduce the likelihood of cancer.
