Carle Foundation Hospital is seeking a Radiation Oncologist to join the Carle Cancer Institute in Urbana, Illinois, due to program growth. This role offers the opportunity to practice both external beam radiation therapy and brachytherapy. While training and interest in High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy for gynecological cancers are a plus, performing HDR brachytherapy is not a requirement. The position is suitable for both experienced candidates and new graduates, with mentorship provided for new graduates. The Radiation Oncologist will join a practice with three other Radiation Oncologists and will work within a multidisciplinary setting, participating in weekly Quality Assurance Radiation Oncology Conferences, disease site-specific Tumor Boards, and collaborating with Medical Oncology and Surgical Services. The role also involves teaching medical students and residents, with an academic appointment commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Carle Cancer Institute has a strong focus on clinical cancer research, holding a National Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) Grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and offering over 100 open clinical trials. There are opportunities for research, including investigator-initiated studies supported by the Stephens Family Clinical Research Institute, and collaboration with the University of Illinois Basic Science Cancer Center.
