Radiation eQuip Physicist III
About The Position
Provides diagnostic and nuclear medicine physics support by developing and implementing quality assurance and evaluation programs for diagnostic imaging and/or radiation therapy equipment that meet regulatory requirements. Provides surveys, reports, and consultation related to radiation safety for applicable facilities and/or patients, meeting organizational and regulatory standards in a timely manner. Serves as a technical expert and resource for Sutter Health entities and outside consultations. Composes and diagnoses reports of findings from surveys during consultations. The position works onsite in clinics and hospitals as scheduled.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Physics or Chemistry with an emphasis in Radiological Physics/Chemistry, or Health Physics.
- Certification or licensure: ABR (American Board of Radiology), ABMP (American Board of Medical Physicists), or ACR.
- Two years of recent relevant experience.
- General knowledge of medical radiation physics, medical radiation safety, and pertinent regulations.
- General knowledge of computers and their applications in diagnostic imaging.
- Good communication and demonstrated customer service skills, and willingness to be part of a team.
- Ability to work with sophisticated computer-based radiological analysis equipment and translate data from these units into understandable, readable reports.
- Commitment to total quality management, including knowledge of its precepts, skillful workplace application, and continuous organizational improvement.
- Knowledge of customer/supplier philosophies emphasizing internal and external relationships.
