Join the Advanced Products & Solutions (APS) Mission Area within the Systems Engineering Center, where we design and develop advanced radar and early-warning sensor systems that support the military around the world. We are seeking Radar Systems Engineers who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving complex technical problems, and are eager to support innovative sensor and radar programs. You will work alongside experienced engineers to define system architecture, develop requirements, perform analysis and modeling, and support integration, testing, and flight activities across the full product lifecycle. This role is onsite in El Segundo, CA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by summer 2027.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering with radar algorithm design, data analysis using Matlab, and Software/hardware integration in a lab environment.
  • Requirements development, verification, and management.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (preferably Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics)
  • Knowledge of radar fundamentals
  • Programming experience in Python and MATLAB
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic or system-level issues, signal processing, statistics, information theory, and detection methods, Imaging/pattern recognition, Data filtering (Kalman, batch, optimal estimation)
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support development, analysis, documentation, and verification of system requirements using DOORS.
  • Generate system CONOPS and system architectures.
  • Assist with radar mode requirement development and system performance assessments.
  • Conduct modeling, simulation, and data analysis using tools such as MATLAB, Python, and C++.
  • Participate in hardware/software integration, troubleshooting, and hands-on laboratory testing.
  • Support verification, validation, flight test, production, and post-deployment activities.
  • Perform trade studies, functional/physical analyses, and MBSE-based system design.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, findings, and briefings to internal and external stakeholders.
