About The Position

Peraton Labs is searching for a Part-Time Radar + RF Communications Engineer. This position will initially be 20 hours/week, with the potential to grow into a full-time position. It is also a fully remote opportunity. In this position, the candidate will serve as the Radar + RF Communications Engineer for projects related to Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) tracking, munition tracking, and munition communications links. The candidate will work to collaborate with Radar Project Leads and senior management to develop strategic plans for Radar and Communications efforts as well as to define and execute technical direction for supporting Programs. The candidate will manage all technical facets of Radar system development, acquisition, and integration, as well as lead a multi-disciplinary Integrated Product Team (IPT) focused on technical leadership of various RADAR / Communications development and integration efforts. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, and pro-actively correcting issues related to technical performance and technical risk management for Radar efforts, and providing Radar support to the design, development, and testing of Radar systems integrated with armament systems, including high accuracy ground based radar systems tracking projectiles, threats (for some missions), and enabling advanced capabilities through a Radar to Munition Datalink for Command guidance and Navigation support in some efforts. The candidate will develop and utilize modeling and simulation tools related to radar systems, signal processing, and tracker algorithms, especially utilizing Kalman filtering and similar techniques. The candidate will conduct technical analysis to assess future system performance in new mission areas and evaluate performance of existing radar systems and suggest methods of improvement of radar performance.
