About The Position

Under limited supervision, responsible for calculating computerized isodose plans for radiation oncology patients. May lead or mentor lower level team members.

Requirements

Full knowledge and understanding of radiation therapy dosimetry.
Ability to communicate well with others in order to provide direction in clinical dosimetry training to Medical Dosimetrists and students.
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
Builds and maintains positive working relationships, within individual work groups and across departments, through open communication and collaboration; works with others to accomplish goals and objectives.
CMD - Certified Medical Dosimetrist required.

Responsibilities

Computes standard dose calculations and determines computerized generation of isodose curves for external beam hyperthermia and brachytherapy radiation treatment programs in accordance with departmental procedures and generally accepted Dosimetry practices.
Work closely with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist to develop customized treatment plans for the patients, reflective of the prescription and any other special instructions.
Calculates treatment machine settings, documents calculations and records treatment data.
Performs verification checks and applies quality assurance procedures to ensure accuracy of dose calculations.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

Time Off - A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options: Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.
Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
