The Outpatient Radiology Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Assesses patients prior to, during, and after procedures that have been ordered according to Imaging Services/ Departmental Guidelines. Operates highly specialized equipment, including radiographic, CR (Computed Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System). Positions patients to obtain quality images. Performs IV contrast injections, urinary catheterizations, and/or other procedures as required. Utilizes RIS (Radiology Information System) and electronic medical records. Train students and staff as assigned. May be cross trained on laboratory phlebotomy and operate laboratory waive testing equipment according to CLIA regulations. May be trained to perform EKGs. This position will be primarily located at CRCH in the OR, with possible rotations to ION or Riverside 3 during low OR case volume.
