Requirements
- Must have passed or is eligible for the examination of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography. Continued employment is provisional based on completion and certification by the ARRT within six months.
- Registered technologists must be in good standing
- Maintains BLS certification with biannual renewal

Responsibilities
- Follow all safety procedures, use proper body mechanics, report unsafe conditions, adhere to radiation safety standards (including ALARA, shielding, and collimation), and maintain a professional appearance.
- Care for patients from arrival to departure, communicate with courtesy and discretion, safely transfer and position patients, provide immobilization and protection, and assist in first aid or emergencies when needed.
- Operate imaging equipment using proper technical factors, select and load appropriate cassettes, produce high-quality diagnostic images, and assist physicians with contrast media, sterile procedures, and patient handling.
- Keep imaging rooms clean and stocked, prevent cross-contamination, secure supplies, report equipment malfunctions, handle equipment responsibly, and complete necessary clerical duties.
- Assume delegated responsibilities when leadership is absent, assist with additional equipment or procedures as needed, and participate in continuing education to maintain and expand skills.
