About The Position

The Rad Tech II Pool position involves administering imaging procedures in accordance with department policies and procedures, functioning in multiple modalities including surgery. The role requires compassionate patient care, prioritizing and completing daily assignments efficiently, and thorough documentation. Responsibilities also include participating in charge capture/cost containment, maintaining a clean and stocked work area, operating equipment correctly, and participating in education and self-development. The position encourages seeking improvements in departmental operations and services, working collaboratively with others, and providing quality service. Flexibility and responsibility in accepting work assignments and responding to change are essential. The role emphasizes practicing radiation safety according to ALARA principles and demonstrating proficiency in the Johnson Memorial Health (JMH) and Radiology Information systems. All activities must comply with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions. The position clearly communicates and supports the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health.

Requirements

  • Two years post-high school education training in an AMA approved School of Radiology.
  • Must have current registry with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and current Indiana Radiologic Technologist General license; or must be registry eligible with AART registry and Indiana General Radiologic Technologist license to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates ability and appropriate technical skills when administering imaging procedures in accordance with department policies and procedures and /or as needed by physician/provider.
  • Functions in more than one modality including surgery.
  • Compassionately gives patient care to provide comfort and well-being to the patient acknowledging physiological and psychological needs according to policy and procedures governing department.
  • Prioritizes and performs duties to complete daily assignments in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Completes documentation thoroughly, legibly, and accurately according to department guidelines and in a timely manner.
  • Actively participates in charge capture/cost containment activities according to specialty area expectations.
  • Ensures that designated work area is clean and stocked with supplies on an ongoing basis.
  • Operates equipment correctly and keeps Supervisor informed of any needed repairs.
  • Participates in orientation, education, and self-development, including student training.
  • Searches for better ways of doing things by recommending and/or initiating suggestions for improvement of departmental operations and/or services provided.
  • Works well with others and supports team efforts.
  • Provides quality service to all customers (Internal and External).
  • Demonstrates flexibility and responsibility in accepting work assignments.
  • Responds positively to changing circumstances.
  • Practices radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles for protection.
  • Shows proficiency in use of the Johnson Memorial Health (JMH) and Radiology Information system pertaining to job specific functions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
