About The Position

As our Radiologic Technologist II, you will perform all radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures at a technical level not requiring supervision to technical detail. You will perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. You will assume responsibility for specific radiographic procedures, angiography or cardiac cath procedures, CT or MRI procedures, and/or mammography procedures. Every day you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency and competence in all aspects of diagnostic radiology, fluoroscopy, surgery exams, and other applicable modalities. You will demonstrate competence in filming, processing, and quality control. You will be able to teach students and new technologists. You will demonstrate appropriate administering and monitoring of radiopaque material per guidelines. You will identify and initiate accurate assessment of life-threatening conditions. You will assist in Imaging Services as needed, demonstrating competence in all areas or modalities assigned. You will demonstrate technical knowledge of all imaging equipment in diagnostic radiology, surgery, and other assigned modalities. You will place orders in HIS system, making all additions, corrections, and cancellations as necessary.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate competence in all diagnostic, fluoroscopic and surgical radiography procedures.
  • Have working knowledge of all basic and special diagnostic imaging equipment.
  • Know departmental protocols and procedures.
  • Have the ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members, physicians and the patient population.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Be self-motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.
  • Have the ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team-oriented environment.
  • Have the ability to assist in the training and teaching of students and new staff members.
  • Be able to fill in for the department Supervisor as needed.
  • Diagnostic technologist with 2 years of work experience in diagnostic radiology and competence in one additional modalities (CT MRI Angio Cardiac Cath Ultrasound or Mammography) OR Diagnostic technologist with 5 years of work experience in diagnostic radiology.
  • Must be able to demonstrate competence in all diagnostic fluoroscopic and surgical radiography procedures.
  • Registered ARRT
  • CRT Certification
  • Current CPR-AHA Certification
