About The Position

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction. To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

Requirements

  • One year clinical experience.
  • X-ray only with less than 5 years experience.
  • No competency or certification in other Imaging modality or Less than 2 years experience with certification or competency in second modality.
  • Medical Radiographer: CA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ability to produce high quality radiographs with any type of equipment within department.
  • Functions with confidence in surgery.
  • Maintain a repeat rate below 5%.
  • Submits quality images. i.e., optimal positioning, free of artifacts.
  • Follow all radiation protection guidelines, as listed in Title 17, California Radiation Control Regulations.
  • Comply with film badge policy 100% of the time.
  • Shield patients per protocol 100% of the time.
  • Record female patients LMP 100% of the time.
  • Follow proper storage and upkeep of lead aprons and gloves 95% of the time.
  • Follow appropriate protection protocols for other employees and/or family members in the radiology areas.
  • Room set-up and assist radiologist with supply control.
  • Changes linen after each use.
  • Cleans room as needed and keeps stocked.
  • Is eager to and is proactive to insure scheduled exams begin on time or prior to appointment.
  • Follow proper techniques for sterile procedures.
  • Assists radiologist when indicated anticipating radiologists needs prior to and during procedures.
  • Monitor all equipment use and function.
  • Reports all malfunctions of equipment to immediate supervisor.
  • Fills out appropriate paperwork, if indicated.
  • Follows directions of appropriate person in repair or adjusting use of equipment.
  • Complete all patient paperwork.
  • Collects and records accurate and complete patient history.
  • Collects and records complete indications for exam with proper grammar and only using approved abbreviations.
  • Expedites exams supporting documents, securing prior imaging and communicating the availability of this information to the radiologist.
  • Reports all problems with exams to the appropriate person.
  • Ensures all ordered exams have been completed in a timely manner and report is received in HIS. i.e., Ordered exam list at beginning and end of shift.
  • Actively supports the organization's mission, philosophy and strategic plan.
