About The Position

Responsible for a variety of clinical and administrative duties including preparing patient for medical examination, performing radiologic exams, charting medical histories, maintaining medical records, scheduling patient appointments and other clerical tasks. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from clinical services. Will work between the Main Campus Urgent Care and the Murabella Urgent Care.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree, Diploma or Equivalent Allied Health Discipline
  • 1-year Medical Facility or Physician Office
  • 1-year Radiology Technician
  • License in Florida as either Radiologic Technologist OR Basic Machine Operator
  • American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Performs physical examination preparations, point of care testing, vital signs, vaccines, phlebotomy, drug administration including injections, prescription verification with physician’s orders, minor surgery assists, and bio-hazard waste disposal.
  • Fulfills environmental responsibilities including restocking and cleaning exam/procedure rooms to maintain infection control, cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records.
  • Fulfills patient care responsibilities including scheduling and patient flow, assisting patients for exam preparation, collecting patient history, charting, and relaying instructions to patients.
  • Fulfills clerical responsibilities including sending/receiving patient medical records, prior authorizations, referral information, etc., completing forms/requisitions, verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics, and managing and updating charts to ensure that information is complete and filed appropriately.
  • Adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, quality control methods, and the MA scope of practice.
  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures, positions patient and operates radiographic equipment while following established procedures for patient care and safety to take X-rays based on the medical diagnosis and/or treatment.
  • Assures quality of images presented to provider for interpretation and consults with doctor to obtain optimum quality.
  • Determines necessary equipment repair and cleans and maintains equipment. Performs quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by law and according to facility policy.
