About The Position

The Racquets Pro Shop Attendant works with the Racquet Shop Lead in all aspects of the Racquets Pro Shop. The Racquets Pro Shop Attendant sells Racquets merchandise while engaged in servicing Racquets playing club-members and their guests with court reservations, coordination of league and social Racquets play, and in provides information on all instructional programs, special events and tournaments. At all times the Racquets Pro Shop Attendant is responsible for the smooth operation of the Racquets Pro Shop in a manner that reflects the mission of the Racquets Department.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one-two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • High level of comfort in PC operation including Windows, Google, and experience with Business applications i.e. Word, Excel, and POS applications.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Google Chrome.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • The employee will sometimes have to perform duties in a "high stress" situation (i.e. phone ringing, one or two members requiring different services at the same time). The employee's ability to handle such situations in a friendly and relaxed manner is imperative to performing their duties in a satisfactory manner.
  • A passion for providing outstanding customer service and enhancing member experiences.
  • The employee should be friendly, outgoing, interested in people and enjoy conversing with club members and their guests.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Outlook, Excel, and Google Chrome is a definite asset.

Responsibilities

  • Work with members in selecting merchandise, suggesting various fashion / product and price options.
  • Maintain shop inventory in a secure fashion.
  • Maintain all display racks, windows, floors, dressing room areas and counter areas in a clean, neat, and functional condition always.
  • Provide demo Racquets and Pickleball paddles to members for their lesson or reservation to play.
  • Receive racquet restringing requests.
  • Place Special Orders for members or their guests upon request.
  • Keep an accurate and up-to-date log of our demo racquets and paddles, special orders, and racquet restringing requests.
  • Efficiently process incoming packages for special orders, maintaining meticulous records and promptly notifying members of their arrivals.
  • Enter all Member “Club Charges” and credit card transactions into the pro shop accounting program (Jonas).
  • Answer incoming calls to the Racquet Shop, directing them appropriately or providing accurate information on court reservations, upcoming events, clinics, and lessons with our pros.
  • Assist members in making reservations for Tennis and Pickleball courts, as well as for clinics and events.
  • Monitor Outlook email during shift and answer unread email or delegate to appropriate team member
