About The Position

Hang miscellaneous sheet metal parts and/or unrack finished painted parts per documented procedures. This role involves moving parts from crates to racks and vice versa, preparing racks for the next day's set-up, and un-racking painted hooks for outside burn-off service. The position also requires performing proper shut-down procedures for the Penthouse Oven, making paint additions, performing minor spray gun adjustments, and conducting quality checks. Additionally, the Racker will be responsible for packing painted parts and notifying appropriate personnel when difficulties arise.

Requirements

• Job requires standing for extended periods of time to perform duties.
• Good hand/eye coordination to keep up with continuous running line.
• Ability to reach to shoulder level.
• Sustained physical effort processing/handling various sized parts and oily materials.
• Ability to climb Ships Ladder and pass Harness/Fall Protection training to shut oven off.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment per Cell Risk Assessment document.
• Good eyesight required to identify part/paint defects.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to make paint additions, minor spray gun adjustments, and perform quality checks per SOD.

Responsibilities

• Check parts for defects per SOD-3045 and dispose as prescribed.
• Moves parts from crates and place on racks. Remove parts from racks and place in crates.
• Hang proper racks for next day set-up.
• Unrack and prepare painted hooks for outside burn-off service.
• Perform proper shut-down procedure for Penthouse Oven.
• Ability to make paint additions, minor spray gun adjustments, and perform quality checks per SOD.
• Perform department packing duties of painted parts.
• Notify Group Leader, Supervisor, and Production Engineer when difficulties arise.
