The Racing Official performs a variety of tasks including assisting with filling races as an Entry Clerk; Claims Clerk; Placing Judge; Stakes Coordinator/Assistant; and assisting with the draw process. This role assists the Racing Secretary with formulating race types for each race day to ensure competitive racing with good field sizes. The official communicates with trainers to fill race cards, makes accurate recordings of entries, and reviews horse records for eligibility. They also relay claims information, may serve as a Placement Judge by verifying results and posting official race results, and handle the Entry-Draw process using the Incompass system. Additionally, the role involves establishing professional relationships within the racing industry, assuring accuracy of racing records, verifying program details, and enhancing relationships between trainers, employees, and management by addressing concerns and promoting a safe environment.
