About The Position

Nosis Bio is a well-funded biotech startup focused on cell-specific delivery of RNA therapeutics. Its all-scientist team combines expertise in receptor biology, generative AI, and high-throughput in vivo data generation to develop RNA therapeutics for new tissues, and partners with pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and biotech organizations.

The company is seeking a Research Associate or Senior Research Associate to conduct chemical synthesis, chromatographic purification, and biochemical validation of peptides, oligonucleotides, and oligo-peptide conjugates in support of therapeutic-candidate development. The role requires hands-on peptide chemistry experience and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams on drug discovery projects. The position is based in Nosis Bio’s laboratory spaces at Research Park at Marina Village in Alameda, California.

Requirements

• Ability to work onsite in the laboratory at Research Park at Marina Village in Alameda, California.
• Experience with solid-phase peptide synthesis and downstream processing, including cleavage, deprotection, and purification.
• Experience performing in vitro biochemical assays.
• Motivation, proactivity, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously.
• Team-oriented approach and openness to collaboration across scientific disciplines.
• Academic and professional experience determine whether the title is Research Associate or Senior Research Associate; candidates from academic, nonprofit, and industry backgrounds are considered.

Nice To Haves

• Direct experience with automated peptide synthesizers, particularly Multi Pep and Liberty Prime.
• Experience with high-throughput screening.
• Experience with solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis, purification, and conjugation.

Responsibilities

• Perform peptide synthesis using automated synthesizers, including Multi Pep and Liberty Prime.
• Purify synthesized products using HPLC and analyze them by mass spectrometry.
• Perform in vitro biochemical assays with peptides, oligonucleotides, and proteins.
• Maintain chemistry instruments and supplies.
