R&D / Validation Engineer

Inteldot•Dorado, PR

About The Position

Inteldot is seeking an Engineer for a leading client in Puerto Rico. The position provides independent technical support through experiment execution and analysis as part of a project team, while building scientific knowledge and concepts within and across disciplines related to core business principles. The Engineer supports equipment validation, tool qualification, process development, research and development, and the creation of quality systems and technical documentation. The role performs experimental work and data analysis, develops methods and processes, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet project goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific field.
  • At least three years of experience in equipment validation, process development, or R&D.
  • Experience developing and reviewing IQ protocols, equipment qualification documentation, validation reports, and maintenance and calibration procedures.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for designing, updating, and reviewing tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of process qualification, statistical sampling plans, quality systems, manufacturing instructions, and experimental methodologies such as DOE.
  • Ability to analyze experimental data, troubleshoot results, prepare technical reports, and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, Process Development, and R&D teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support equipment validation, including IQ, and tool qualification activities (TQF).
  • Review and develop equipment validation protocols and reports.
  • Support other functional areas during validation activities.
  • Design, update, and review tools and fixtures using SolidWorks to meet test-method and product needs.
  • Work with Process Development to qualify new processes and assist with statistical sampling plans and other development procedures.
  • Design and develop in-process and receiving quality systems for new processes and components.
  • Generate equipment documentation, including equipment entries, evaluations, and preventive maintenance and calibration procedures, as required.
  • Define gauges, tools, and equipment for developed test methods.
  • Generate manufacturing instructions for new test methods under development.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments on Process Development and R&D tasks.
  • Stay informed about technologies and relevant literature in the functional area and identify potential new applications for existing technologies.
  • Support research and testing of new technologies and targets within the functional area.
  • Design and document experiments or protocols, such as limited-complexity DOE, with support from senior technical staff; execute independently within the functional area.
  • Complete complex data analysis, identify and propose solutions to problematic data, solve basic issues independently, and compare results with historical data.
  • Summarize results; prepare technical reports and experimental paperwork or lab notebook documentation; and potentially peer review experimental documentation.
  • Propose and develop methods and processes independently or with minimal direction from senior technical staff.
  • Participate as an extended team member, primarily in experimental execution and secondarily as a scientific consultant for projects of limited complexity.
  • Perform multiple experimental techniques and processes within the functional area.
  • Identify resources needed to meet project milestones and recommend functional resource needs to the team leader.
