About The Position

Nimble is seeking a highly motivated and skilled R&D Test Specialist to join its System Integration and Testing team. This hands-on role contributes to the testing and validation of robotics hardware and software systems. The specialist works closely with engineering to assess product capability, reliability, and quality by executing detailed test plans, documenting results, and identifying issues. The position is full-time and on-site at Nimble’s San Francisco warehouse and office, five days per week.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a hands-on technical role, with a strong background in testing hardware and/or software systems.
• Familiarity with Python scripting for data collection and test automation.
• Strong understanding of data logging and analysis, with proficiency in Google Sheets or similar platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort using Google Suite, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Gmail.
• Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and technical specifications.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A can-do attitude and a passion for hands-on problem-solving.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site five days a week at Nimble’s San Francisco locations.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on hardware and software tests for robotics and automation systems.
• Conduct functional, performance, and durability testing based on engineering test plans.
• Record and document test results, observations, and issues, including data logging with Google Sheets and other digital tools.
• Collaborate with engineers to debug and troubleshoot problems identified during testing.
• Set up, maintain, and calibrate test fixtures and equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical test plan documents to ensure proper test execution.
• Use and modify Python scripts to automate test procedures and analyze data.
• Communicate test status and findings clearly and concisely to the engineering team, both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain a safe and organized lab and testing environment.
