About The Position

Working at Freudenberg: We will wow your world! This role involves owning the day-to-day operation of the engineering test laboratory, ensuring tests are executed safely, accurately, and on schedule. The engineer will design, set up, and execute product validation, durability, and performance testing to support product development and customer requirements. Responsibilities also include investigating product and equipment failures, performing root cause analysis, and recommending corrective actions. Developing custom test fixtures, prototypes, and laboratory solutions using engineering design principles and rapid prototyping technologies, including 3D printing, is a key aspect of the role. The engineer will collect, analyze, and interpret test data, delivering clear technical reports and recommendations. Maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading laboratory equipment, while supporting the installation and commissioning of new testing capabilities, is also required. Additionally, the role involves mentoring engineering co-ops and interns and collaborating with various teams to drive successful project outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• One to three years of engineering experience in testing, product development, validation, manufacturing, reliability, laboratory operations, or a related technical environment.
• Experience conducting engineering tests, evaluating results, and making data-driven recommendations.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and improve equipment and test systems.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with customers, suppliers, engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams.

• Experience with CAD, fixture design, technical drawings, prototypes, or 3D printing technologies.
