About The Position

This role focuses on making and testing new product samples for IPM/IPMPC customers. As a Level 1 R&D Technologist, you will gain an understanding of the R&D process from concept to commercialization and assist in the development of new products within cost and nutritional guidelines. You will also work on improving current products for both cost and quality, stay informed about food trends and competitor analysis, and support production trial runs and new product launches at various factory locations. This includes assisting QA and production with troubleshooting and communicating with vendors and suppliers for ingredient sourcing, specifications, pricing, and relationship building.

  • Ability to prepare samples in the Lab
  • Ability to decide what ingredients and level are required to create finished products that meet a customer’s need
  • Understand impact of different ingredients on finished product
  • Ability to organize and order ingredients needed to prepare customer samples
  • Ability to duplicate formulas and make changes to existing formulas to meet target flavor profile
  • Ability to accurately document formulas, specifications, and operating procedures
  • Ability to think critically about effects of formula changes on production ability
  • Ability to prioritize development activities throughout the project

Responsibilities
