About The Position

HP Hood is seeking a self-driven R&D Technical Documentation Specialist I to join their team. This role is crucial for accurately entering and managing data in external-facing R&D documents, including formulas, specifications, and process instructions within PLM and ENF systems. The specialist will ensure tasks are completed on time to meet R&D project timelines and adhere to data management standards. A baseline understanding of the food industry, Hood products, ingredients, plants, internal processes, and relevant software systems is expected. HP Hood, founded in 1846, is a leading food and beverage manufacturer in the United States with a portfolio of well-known brands.

Requirements

0-3 years of Data Management/Documentation experience
Masters/Bachelors of Science/Engineering degree in Food Science or related field of study
Excellent computer skills and interest in information technology
Math and science fluency
Ability to complete assignments to meet project deadlines; attention to detail.
Foundational interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
Skills to handle risk and uncertainty as well as problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
Strong self-accountability to meet deadlines and drive results; is accountable for own work; meets timelines and expectations.
Demonstrated ability to learn new software.

Computer Science and/or Coding Knowledge highly beneficial

Basic technical knowledge of science, engineering, and/or quality assurance, preferably in food industry.
Baseline knowledge of PLM, ENF, and/or data management systems.
Baseline knowledge of food industry, awareness of Hood products, formulas, processes, ingredients, plants, and internal processes.

Responsibilities

Reviews and accurately enters/updates formulas, ingredient and product specifications, and process instructions in the PLM system with information provided by Scientists/Engineers, ensuring accuracy ('Right the First Time').
With supervision, communicates with internal approvers and suppliers to complete Ingredient Spec and Formula approvals.
Completes assigned tasks to create/obsolete items for PLM.
Completes assigned tasks in ENF.
Adheres to R&D Standard Operating Procedures and checklists.
Travels as needed for business and communicates with supervisor when travel is not manageable.
