About The Position

This position works collaboratively with the Genomics & Sequencing team members of Precision Genomics. The role will be responsible for delivering weekly targets for high quality RNA extractions from diverse material utilizing liquid handler-based automation and specialized laboratory equipment. The role will utilize technical knowledge to assess extraction quality and troubleshoot when required.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Strong molecular biology acumen with the ability to independently design experiments and analyze data
Demonstrated experience with DNA extraction or RNA extraction, qPCR/TaqMan, and/or next gen sequencing library creation
High throughput laboratory automation experience with mechanical aptitude for operating and troubleshooting automation
Must possess agility and adaptability to keep up with changing company priorities and balance multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency with LIMS systems, organization and sample tracking, data analysis, and visualization software
Ability to build strong relationships and networks

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field with 2 years of related experience in academia or industry
Master’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field with minimum years of relevant experience
High School Diploma with 10 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

Complete various lab experiments and processes in alignment with the weekly work queue and prioritized by the team
Solve routine problems requiring original thinking and deductive reasoning of diverse procedures within specialized laboratory technology
Be skilled in organizing and reporting specialized reports, including analyzing and interpreting the results of experiments, production KPIs, cost/benefit analysis, and lab related issues to partners and key stakeholders
Thrive on meeting challenges, insist on high quality deliverables, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and have proven initiative in some categories of accomplishments, either individually or as part of a group
Prioritize and coordinate work within a large team and provides training to contingent workforce; maintaining detailed record keeping and required documentation
