About The Position

Looking for an experienced R&D Senior Engineer to support the design, development, and continuous improvement of Medium Voltage (MV) Reclosers. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in MV power distribution products, product design, reliability engineering, and compliance with industry standards while collaborating with global engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical power equipment or MV distribution products.
• Experience with MV Reclosers, circuit breakers, switches, or similar MV equipment.
• Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, IEC, and UL standards.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with thermal, dielectric, or structural simulation tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Medium Voltage Reclosers and related power distribution equipment.
• Collaborate with global ABB engineering and manufacturing teams on new product development and design improvements.
• Perform design reviews, root cause analysis, and reliability engineering activities.
• Prepare engineering documentation, technical reports, and design records.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE, ANSI, IEC, UL, and CSA standards.
• Support product certification and qualification activities.
• Drive innovation and contribute to intellectual property development.
• Utilize engineering analysis and simulation tools for product validation.
