About The Position

A R&D Engineer, Human Factors role focused on driving new catheter‑based and implantable technologies from concept through commercialization to treat vascular disease, while leading detailed design, testing, prototyping, and pre‑clinical strategy. This position also plays a key role in shaping and strengthening Philips IGTD’s design controls and QMS processes as part of its next‑generation product development efforts.

Requirements

  • B.S. / B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • In combination with 5+ years working in product development in the medical device industry
  • Knowledge of catheter design/assembly processes (injection molded component design, extrusion, braiding, coiling, reflow, etc.)
  • Class II and Class III Medical Device product development experience
  • Human Factors experience required with design for manufacturability knowledge and applicable skills
  • Must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Creating design controls QMS work instructions
  • Supporting research and development activities from Concept Phase through Commercialization.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional team members throughout product development phases to ensure program success
