The R&D Scientific Manager provides scientific and technical leadership for a team focused on the development, optimization, validation, and implementation of cytogenetic testing technologies, with particular emphasis on fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), cell culture, microscopy, and digital imaging applications. The team supports both constitutional genetics and oncology programs and is responsible for advancing innovative diagnostic solutions across cytogenetic and molecular testing platforms. This role partners closely with Medical Directors and cross-functional stakeholders to drive scientific innovation, expand testing capabilities, and ensure technical excellence across the portfolio. Oversees and guides the technical and research activities within a specific section or discipline. Primary responsibilities include management of R&D staff and technical oversight for research, development, and validation of new and improved testing for the reference environment as well as academic activities initiated by the Medical Directorship. Works in collaboration with, and under the direction of the Medical Directorship. This position reports directly to the R&D Director with limited supervision and latitude for independent judgement and decision making.
