This role involves monitoring adherence to FDA/USDA/CFIA labeling compliance of import products, including translation and labeling information verification. The specialist will lead regulatory compliance efforts and interact with cross-functional stakeholders in the US and Headquarters in Korea to ensure labeling compliance. Key responsibilities include identifying and improving processes related to labeling, regulatory assessments, and claim compliance, creating Nutrient Fact Panels and ingredient statements using Genesis software, and managing the review of product claims in marketing and sales collateral. The position also requires monitoring the regulatory environment to ensure timely updates to ingredients, formulas, labels, and labeling, and managing the development and implementation of regulatory and compliance processes, procedures, and training. Accurate record-keeping of ingredients and nutritional values is essential. Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant food regulatory experience.
  • Strong Knowledge of FDA/USDA/CFIA food labeling regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience with the label review process.
  • Knowledge and experience of USDA and FDA regulations.
  • Experiences and knowledge of GENESIS program.
  • Must have initiative, be able to work independently, and exercise good judgment.
  • Detail-oriented, demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Korean/English bilingual is a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience/knowledge of EU/UK food labeling regulations and documentation requirements is a plus.
  • Knowledge of food product development and import/export process are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor adherence to FDA/USDA/CFIA labeling compliance of import products including translation and labeling information verification.
  • Lead regulatory compliance and interact with cross function stakeholders in US and Headquarter in Korea to ensure labeling compliance.
  • Identify the development and continuous improvement of processes relating to labeling, regulatory assessments, and claim compliance.
  • Create Nutrient Fact Panels and ingredient statements per appropriate regulatory jurisdiction of the products using Genesis software.
  • Manage review of product claims made in marketing and sales collateral and other consumer communications for compliance with applicable regulations, guidelines, and company procedures.
  • Monitor the regulatory environment and ensure that ingredients, formulas, labels, and labeling are updated when new regulations are implemented.
  • Manage with review, improvement, development, and implementation of regulatory and compliance processes, procedures, and training.
  • Review and track accurate records of ingredients and nutritional values according to the regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other projects/tasks as assigned.
