About The Position

Provide leadership at the enterprise level for technical design and execution of significant projects. Serve as an expert resource to advise other teams and recommend solutions to technical design problems. Lead and/or assist in the resolution of complex production problems. Advise and recommend technical strategies to Sr. Leadership with a broad understanding of the business objectives and related technical implications. Champion AI-assisted development across the organization, setting the standard for how AI tools and agentic workflows are used to design, build, and deliver enterprise-level software.

Requirements

Expert-level skills in the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-level software systems
Demonstrated, hands-on proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and a track record of using AI to produce production-quality, enterprise-level software
Strong prompt engineering and agentic workflow skills, including decomposing complex projects into well-scoped tasks for AI agents
Ability to critically review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability
Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, including distributed systems, APIs and integrations, databases, and CI/CD pipelines
Expert-level troubleshooting and debugging of complex production systems
Strong written and verbal communication, including creating specifications, documentation, and training material
Proven technical leadership and mentoring ability across teams and departments
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
Five (5) years of work experience in information technology or engineering environment with demonstrated leadership experience.
Demonstrated experience using AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver production software.

Nice To Haves

Experience designing and shipping AI-powered product features (LLM API integration, RAG, agent-based systems)
Experience defining AI usage policies, governance, or evaluation standards for development teams
Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or other AI agent frameworks and tooling
Knowledge of logistics and shipping industry standards, conventions, and multi-carrier shipping systems
Experience with cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices

Responsibilities

Mentor members of development team, advise and improve agile methodologies
Improve team coding best practices and guidelines - Across departments
Champion AI-assisted development across departments – establish standards, guardrails, and best practices for using AI tools to produce enterprise-level software
Apply AI tools and agentic workflows to accelerate design, development, code review, testing, and documentation while upholding enterprise quality and security standards
Mentor and train developers in the effective, responsible use of AI development tools; evaluate emerging AI tooling and recommend adoption strategies to Sr. Leadership
Plan and Lead technical projects across ProShip departments
Troubleshoot very complex production issues with input from other subject matter experts
The ability to review and create specifications
Understand interaction of major server components
Mentor and lead understanding of logistic industry standards and conventions
Create supporting documentation and/or training material on components
Communicate with internal and external customers related to R&D initiatives
Identify and plan for emerging industry trends and changes
Understand and educate team on emerging technologies
