R&D Molecular Diagnostics Technician (Fountain Valley, CA)

Antech Diagnostics•Fountain Valley, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

The R&D Molecular Diagnostics Technician performs molecular diagnostic protocols, troubleshoots escalated diagnostic cases, supports continuous improvement, and creates quality-control criteria for novel assays. This is a dynamic, interactive, fast-paced role in molecular diagnostics research and development that calls for a proactive, problem-solving approach. The position works under close to moderate supervision, with limited latitude for independent judgment, and partners with associates across departments to support shared business goals. The technician performs and analyzes molecular testing, designs and conducts experiments to investigate reagents, tests, protocols, and assay design, and supports assay improvements by investigating escalated clinical cases and identifying new genotypes. Additional duties include preparing color-compensation reagents, reviewing experiments, supporting transitions of R&D protocols to QA and manufacturing, maintaining quality databases and filing systems, conducting statistical and stability analyses, and maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies. The role may require travel up to 25% and extended hours. The laboratory environment may include biohazards and potentially hazardous chemicals; required PPE mitigates exposure risks.
