About The Position

The R&D Laboratory Intern will work with a laboratory team at Veolia’s Tomball Technology Centre in Tomball, Texas. The role focuses on a hydrocarbon or petrochemical process-treatment project supporting crude oil production, transportation, refinery, and petrochemical process applications. The intern may use custom-designed laboratory equipment to simulate customer unit operations or processes and investigate separation, deposition, or corrosion control. In consultation with a Veolia Researcher, the intern will carry out experiments, review findings, plan follow-up experiments, and document and present the project results at the end of the internship.

Requirements

Undergraduate pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or an equivalent field.
Two to three years of college chemistry laboratory experience.
Familiarity with basic wet chemistry and analytical techniques.
Ability to work independently in a laboratory environment alongside other team members.
Self-motivated and a team player.
Demonstrated dedication to laboratory safety and general safety procedures.
Effective problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and effective communication skills, including the ability to produce quality technical reports and documents.
Basic proficiency with Google Suite / Workspace.

Responsibilities

In consultation with a Veolia Researcher, execute a program investigating a specific customer or technology-development challenge.
Conduct experiments to generate data.
Review data with the Researcher and design next-step experiments.
Document and present project results at the completion of the internship.
