About The Position

The R&D Laboratory Intern will work as part of a laboratory team at Veolia’s Tomball Technology Centre in Tomball, Texas. The role supports a hydrocarbon or petrochemical process treatment project for crude oil production, transportation, refinery, and petrochemical process applications. Work may involve custom-designed laboratory equipment to simulate customer unit operations or processes and help control separations, deposition, or corrosion. In consultation with a Veolia Researcher, the intern will investigate a customer or technology development challenge, conduct experiments, review data, plan subsequent experiments, and document and present project results at the end of the internship.

Requirements

Be an undergraduate pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
Have 2–3 years of college chemistry laboratory experience.
Be familiar with basic wet chemistry and analytical techniques.
Be able to work independently in a laboratory environment with other team members.
Be self-motivated and a team player.
Demonstrate dedication to laboratory safety and general safety procedures.
Have effective problem-solving skills.
Have strong organizational skills and communicate effectively, including producing quality technical reports and documents.
Have basic skills in Google Suite/Workspace.

Responsibilities

In consultation with a Veolia Researcher, execute a program investigating a specific customer or technology development challenge.
Conduct experiments to generate data.
Review data with the Researcher and design next-step experiments.
Document and present project results at the completion of the internship.
