About The Position
The Novelis Global R&D team, located in Kennesaw, GA, is seeking an R&D Intern. The intern will perform lab chemical analyses, including sample preparation, data collection, and trend monitoring of lubricant composition and degradation, allowing faster turnaround of results and improved process insight. This internship position will start June 2026 and end August 2026.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in materials science, engineering, or related fields
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in gathering and organizing comprehensive business requirements
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical issues and solutions to audiences with limited technical background
Responsibilities
- Sample preparation and routine FTIR , GC-FID, and GC-MS analyses
- Monitoring lubricant aging, oxidation, and contamination trends
- Maintaining organized data records and analysis reports
- Study waste treatment/disposal from lubrication, surface treatment, and corrosion labs to make recommendations on safe and economical disposal options.
