Pay Rate: $26/hr Position Description By joining the Bio-Techne team you will have an impact on future cutting-edge research. Bio-Techne, and all its brands, provides tools for researchers in Life Sciences and Clinical Diagnostics. Position Summary: We seek a highly motivated and creative R&D intern to join our R&D team. You will work within a highly dynamic and creative research group and will have the opportunity to contribute to new product/technology development and/or optimization of our current products based on RNAscope technology.

Requirements

  • A graduate or equivalent experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology or related field.
  • Experience in fluorescent microscopy and other imaging modalities, molecular biology techniques, cell culture, real-time PCR, etc.
  • Experience in tissue/cell-based assays such as immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization.
  • Excellent team player and self-starter as well as ability to work independently. Good organization skills and attention to details.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Were permitted by applicable law, candidate must have received or be willing to receive an FDA authorized COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in histologic technology or biomicroscopic imaging.
  • Prior experience in single-cell RNA sequencing or flow cytometry.
  • Ability to focus and deliver on time-sensitive tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform RNAscope/BaseScope-based assays to facilitate new product development and assay optimization.
  • Assist the team members to perform manufacturing QC for commercial product testing.
  • Participate in literature search/review, experiment design, material acquisition, and assay execution.
  • Perform wet-lab experiments, tissue processing, H&E staining, ICC/IHC/IF staining, 2D/3D microscopic imaging, and data analysis.
  • Document experiment procedure/results, and present the project progress and research findings to the group.
