About The Position

All internship positions are designed to give college students an opportunity to apply techniques learned in an academic setting while obtaining new skills. This is a paid internship offering full-time hours during the summer months. All interns are required to conclude the program by giving a formal presentation on their work. Please note that no relocation assistance or sponsorship is provided for the internship program at this time. Position Summary: Join a talented and driven R&D team to develop cutting edge immunoassays on a next-generation microfluidic device. Our proprietary technology (Simple Plex/ Ella) includes an automated benchtop immunoassay platform for precise and accurate biomarker detection in biofluids. This internship will focus on developing and optimizing novel capabilities on the Ella platform to address unmet needs within the fluid biomarker research community, with implications for clinically-relevant applications.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a graduate-level degree in a field relevant to the internship
  • Must be able to work full-time during the duration of the internship program
  • An undergraduate degree in Life Sciences or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience in basic laboratory techniques (pipetting, sample preparation, lab safety, etc).
  • Good understanding of immunoassay principles and antibodies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands on experience in immunoassays (particularly ELISA and/or next generation platforms) is a plus.
  • Good command of common analysis tools (e.g. Excel).
  • Further experience with advanced statistical software and/or programming (e.g. R, Prism) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Handle and prepare biological samples
  • Perform, troubleshoot, and optimize Simple Plex assays on the Ella automated immunoassay system
  • Analyze data, draw conclusions, and make decisions for next steps
  • Discuss lab findings and provide recommendations for future experimentation
  • Propose and discuss creative new ideas
